The Bear on Hulu, Season 2

Specifically season 2. No need to watch the first season to appreciate the second (though you really should.) If you’ve seen the first season and are still recovering from its high-stress, frantic vibe, then grab a woobie and curl up on the couch for this batch. It’s the TV-version of hygge.

A masterclass in EQ @ Work, Season 2 is an exhibition of emotionally intelligent leadership where the main character identifies the hidden potential in each team member, then invests in their expansion. The anthology condenses a character’s arc at their pivotal change point into one episode, each a work of cinematic and performance art.

Episodes of note

Ep 4 - Honeydew

This quiet tennis match of question + answer is grounded in respect for the shared interest and driven by curiosity. It’s a stunning example of active and patient, considered listening to hotwire connection.

Ep 6 - Fishes

The titular, frantic installment is a hat tip to all of season one. In a single swoop, it yanks the curtain open on the primary back story to expose the harsh realities of how a chaotic and mercurial upbringing can ultimately condition us for survival - and achievement - in the harshest workplaces.

Ep 7 - Forks

This is a profound story of how internal and external events come together to drive one man’s transformation. Watch him literally come alive as he steps into the potential he couldn’t see for himself.
